PageMate privacy policy

Draft. The current policy on GitHub still describes the app’s old name (PDF Extractor & Reader, 2023) and does not cover the camera, translation, voice or subscription features. Items marked To confirm must be checked against the app, and the Play Data safety form updated to match.

Who we are

PageMate is published by SchoolLink Technologies, Pakistan. Contact: mharis9091@gmail.com.

Your account

You can sign up with your email address or your Google account. Accounts are managed with Firebase Authentication, and account data is stored in Google Firebase, encrypted in transit and at rest. We keep your email address, your sign-in details and what the account needs to work. To confirm: what else is saved with the account (settings, document history, Pro status).

Your account is kept until you ask us to delete it, as described on our delete-account page.

Your documents stay on your phone

Scanning, text recognition (OCR), PDF editing, compression, signing and offline translation run on your device. We do not upload or store your documents. To confirm: no feature sends document content to a server (e.g. summaries or translation before a language pack is downloaded).

Permissions

  • Camera: to scan documents. Images stay on your device.
  • Microphone (voice translator): speech is recognised on your phone. Audio is not recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else.
  • Storage / files: to open and save the PDFs you choose.

Advertising

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects device identifiers (including the advertising ID), approximate location from the IP address, and ad interactions, as described in Google’s privacy policy. To confirm: personalised or non-personalised ads, and the consent message shown.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Google processes it for us: Firebase (accounts), AdMob (ads) and Google Play (subscriptions).

Subscriptions

PageMate Pro is sold through Google Play. We receive the subscription status, not your payment details. Cancel any time in Google Play.

Language packs

Translation language packs are downloaded from Google once and then used offline.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. To confirm: the app’s Play category and target audience (it is currently listed under Education).
